Henrik Ibsen

The difference between positive psychology interventions and psychotherapy:

1. Positive Psychology:

  - Focus: Positive psychology focuses on the positive aspects of life, such as happiness, satisfaction, resilience, and positive personal qualities.

  - Approach: This field emphasizes the development and cultivation of an individual's positive qualities, such as optimism, gratitude, and altruism. It addresses strengths, resources, values, and hopes of the individual.

  - Goal: The primary goal of positive psychology is to help people improve their lives and achieve a higher level of psychological well-being by focusing on their positive resources and capabilities.

2. Psychotherapy:

  - Focus: Psychotherapy concentrates on treating mental problems and disorders, such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, or personality disorders.

  - Approach: Therapists use various techniques and therapeutic approaches to help patients understand and cope with their psychological issues. Approaches may vary from cognitive-behavioral therapy to psychoanalytic therapy, depending on the case.

  - Goal: The goal of psychotherapy is to provide support and intervention to improve the mental state and functioning of patients, usually in situations involving suffering or dysfunction.

Martin Seligman believed that when it comes to therapy, it's usually too late and that by acting when an individual is still doing well, preventive interventions could save an ocean of tears.

facing challenges

In today's times, many young people feel overwhelmed by challenges and wonder how they can find happiness and well-being amidst the daily chaos.

Millennials are facing challenges that no other generation has encountered before. The chaos of everyday life, workplace pressure, difficulties in maintaining a balance between professional and personal life, and increasing economic uncertainties can create an overwhelming sense of stress and anxiety.

"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was an invincible summer within me." - Albert

However, even in the midst of these challenges, there is an extraordinary possibility of finding happiness and well-being.

The focus is on your strengths, on what is going well in your life, on the resources you have, and on future possibilities. Last but not least, it's about awareness and responsibility.

I have discovered that a very effective way to achieve this is through Positive Psychology.

- There is a wealth of research and data on well-being and happiness, and many interventions that could yield results. While we have a good foundation in theory and research, more training and coaching are needed for us to "blossom" – to thrive psychologically.
